Pho' Vietnam #2 Information

Tucked along Muldoon Road, Pho' Vietnam #2 at Pho' Vietnam #2 feels like one of those dependable neighborhood spots you end up returning to without much thought-mainly because it consistently delivers exactly what you’re craving. The location itself is easy to find, and while the exterior is fairly modest, stepping inside brings a warm, no-frills dining room that focuses more on comfort than flash. It’s the kind of place where the aroma hits you first-rich broth, fresh herbs, and that unmistakable hint of star anise.

The menu leans heavily into traditional Vietnamese staples, and naturally, pho is the star attraction. The broth stands out for being deeply flavorful without feeling overly heavy, suggesting a long, careful simmer that aligns with how authentic pho is typically prepared. A large bowl arrives steaming, layered with tender slices of beef, silky rice noodles, and a generous side of bean sprouts, lime, and basil that lets you customize each bite. It’s the sort of dish that feels especially welcome during Anchorage’s colder months, though it holds up just as well year-round.

Beyond pho, the menu offers a solid range of options like vermicelli bowls, spring rolls, and rice plates. The grilled pork vermicelli, for example, balances smoky, slightly sweet meat with crisp vegetables and light noodles, making it a refreshing alternative if you’re not in the mood for soup. Portions are generous without being overwhelming, and prices feel reasonable compared to similar Vietnamese restaurants in the area, which is something regulars often mention in reviews.

Service here tends to be straightforward and efficient. It’s not overly chatty, but it doesn’t need to be-orders come out quickly, and staff seem familiar with regular customers, which adds to that neighborhood vibe. During busier hours, especially dinner time, there can be a bit of a wait, but turnover is fairly quick.

What really makes this place stand out in the local dining scene is its consistency. While Anchorage isn’t short on Asian dining options, finding a spot that reliably nails both flavor and portion size can be hit or miss. Pho' Vietnam #2 manages to hold its own, offering a dependable experience that keeps people coming back, whether they’re first-time visitors or longtime locals who know exactly what they’re ordering before they even sit down.

What People's Say About Place

This place hits the spot! I had a bowl of oxtail pho and a bánh mì sandwich, and both were excellent. The oxtail was packed with flavor and fall-off-the-bone tender. The broth was rich, and everything came out fast and hot. The bánh mì? Best I’ve had anywhere—crispy bread, fresh veggies, and flavorful meat that really stood out. The restaurant was clean, the staff was friendly and quick, and the overall vibe was welcoming. Prices were maybe 20% higher than some other pho spots I’ve tried, but honestly, the food was also about 20% better—worth it in my book. I’ll definitely be back to try more from the menu.

Pho’ Vietnam #2 should be #1 on your list for Vietnamese food. While visiting Anchorage I was an avid patron of Pho’ Vietnam #2. I visited the restaurant 5 times in the course of 2 weeks. I’m use to the flavors of the east coast Vietnamese dishes and Pho’ Vietnam is it. The aroma is pungent and the flavors plays a full concert on your tastebuds. They also have some Thai dishes to choose from. The times I visited I had their Pho’ Combo and Spicy Noodle Soup (Bún Bò Huê ). Both dishes were extravagant and silenced my cravings. The Spicy Noodle Soup (Bún Bò Huê) that I’m used to usually comes with pig feet which it didn’t have but it doesn’t take away from the flavors and it’s replaced with a plentiful amount of other ingredients. Have a craving for Vietnamese food, whether it’s during winter or even in the warmer weathers, warm your soul up with Pho’ Vietnam #2. It’s your hidden gem.

We love this restaurant. The food here is delicious. It's family owned. Well organized with great service and always hits the spot. Will return, always.

This place is amazing. Been here twice. First time we got the combo pho with the combo pad see ew. Amazing, 10/10. So good we came back for a 2nd time and we got the pad see ew again but tried out the fried chicken wings. Best decision ever, possibly the best friend chicken wings I’ve ever had. Don’t argue with me, argue with your Mom. And the Thai tea? Unforgettable.

We ordered the Pad See Ew dish, wings with fries and the banhmi sandwich. Staff were nice and friendly! Tables were clean and our food was brought out to our table quite fast! Servings are pretty decent and reasonable prices delicious!

After eating at 7 different pho restaurants in Anchorage, THIS is my favorite thus far & it'swhy I'm back for a 2nd time! I love the fast, professional service, the presentation, and the flavor of the soup/broth. I ordered the combination pho noodle and it was fantastic compared to those I've eaten elsewhere. I'll definitely return; I found this place by accident after returning from the Arctic Valley Road drive. Past reviewers of this place also helped in deciding where to spend my hard-earned money. The Thai ice tea and ice coffee with condense milk are delicious and have given me a second wind in the afternoon. So yes, I highly recommend this place.

Amazing customer service. Authentic food. Very good portions and they do not cheap out on ingredients too. I am pleased and will return. I ordered Green Curry with fried Tofu.

Our first time there. Nice service and good food. The fruit drinks were delicious, we got papaya and avocado flavors, the avocado smoothie was the best one.
